How and where to position a wedding veil

Most Wanaka brides like to have a veil even if it's just for the ceremony.

A couple of things that are good to consider are:

  • When during the wedding are you going to have a veil?

  • Where do you want the veil to sit?

If you like a fine veil application (see reference image

1) you will need to alter it. Veils come with a comb attached (see reference image)

2) and this will need to be removed and some tiny loops applied (see reference image 3 and 4) for the bobby pins to sit. This can then be easily pinned in and I can show someone in the wedding party how to easily remove it. You may want to talk to your wedding dress alterations team to do this.

Keeping the comb as is? Some veils can happily just sit in the hair as is but depending on where you want the veil to sit it may need to be pinned in. This can sometimes be a little trickier to remove but can be done. The comb can also be quite bulky and sometimes may disturb the style. If you are unsure, we can chat about this once we know the style you want and the position of the veil, please get in touch with any questions

Veil service is included in the bridal hair service at the time of styling. However, if you wish for your stylist to stay late and apply it at a later time there may be an extra charge.
